A Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is an urban area where the circulation of vehicles that emit high levels of pollutants is limited in order to improve air quality and reduce pollution.
Here's how to access it with your vehicle so that you don't have any problems. It's very simple!
National vehicles
IbilgailuakSpanish-registered vehicles: All vehicles with an environmental badge B, C, Eco or 0 will be able to enter the Low Emission Zone.This also includes those with a one-time, temporary or permanent authorisation.
It’s not necessary to have the physical sticker on your vehicle.
The following are considered non-compliant (and cannot enter):
FIRST PHASE (2025-2027)
- Petrol: passenger cars and light vans registered before January 2000.
- Diesel: vehicles registered before 2006
Foreign vehicles
Foreign registered vehicles must apply for prior authorisation to enter the Low Emission Zone. This procedure will only be necessary for the first time.
The minimum requirements for foreign registered vehicles to gain access are as follows:
FIRST PHASE (2025-2027)
- Petrol: registered from October 2001
- Diesel: registered from October 2006
